Two tool faces. One clear view.

Compare the plan-line and angle-only tool face options. Then review the slide/rotate footage, build rate, dog leg and projected landing VS together.

In this screen: 43 ft slide / 25 ft rotate to the next survey. The guidance is calculated from the inputs captured in this example.

02 / LESS SEPARATE MATH

Your next decision.
The context to make it.

01

Know where the bit is headed.

Project inclination and azimuth to the bit. See left/right, above/below and whether landing VS is short or long of the plan.

02

Keep the slide math connected.

Log a slide once. Use slide seen, slide ahead and motor yield in the same workflow as the guidance for the next stand.

03

Start with the plan you have.

Import Excel, set your sensor offset and stand length, and keep multiple wells on the phone you already carry.

04 / BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

A few things
worth knowing.

How it works on your phone, what your license covers, and where your data stays.

Will it read my existing well plan?

CurveDrill imports Excel well plans with MD, inclination and azimuth, plus TVD, N/S and E/W when included. It reads the plan’s vertical section azimuth and checks your VS direction against it. See setup in the user guide.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes, once installed. Your well plans and surveys are stored on your device. You need a connection to activate your license and re-check it at least every 30 days.

Does it work on tablets, PCs, Macs and Linux?

Yes. CurveDrill runs in a modern web browser on tablets, Windows PCs, Macs and Linux computers, as well as iPhone and Android. The browser runs the app, so you don’t need a separate version for each operating system. Open app.curvedrill.com and activate your license. Where your browser supports it, you can also install it as a web app for a dedicated icon and app-style window.

Who is CurveDrill for?

Directional drillers can review tool face, slide/rotate and landing guidance for the next stand. Drilling engineers can examine the plan, surveys, build requirements and projected path. Company men can follow curve progress and review where the well is projected to land.

Can I use it on iPhone and Android?

Yes. CurveDrill installs from the browser, with large, high-contrast numbers and light and dark modes. On iPhone, install from Safari to your Home Screen. Read the iPhone installation and saved-license guide.

How many devices does my license cover?

The Founders plan is configured for up to two devices. Browser storage is used to identify each activation. If cleared storage uses up an activation, contact support@curvedrill.com.

What happens to my wells if I clear data or change phones?

Plans and surveys stay in the browser storage on the device where you entered them. Clearing that storage can erase them. They do not automatically appear on a new phone. Contact support before changing devices if you need help preserving your work.

Can I buy it today? What happens after purchase?

Sales are opening soon. Use the notification button above to email us. At launch, checkout will provide your license key and an app link. Install CurveDrill, activate with your key, and import your well plan.

Does it replace my planning software or survey of record?

No. CurveDrill is a rig-floor helper for landing the curve. Always check against your approved plan and company procedures, and use your judgment as the directional driller.

02 / WHAT’S IN THE APP

From the first import
to the last curve survey.

The tools for the whole curve job, in a format made for the phone you carry.

01Plan & setupBring the well plan you already use.
  • Import Excel plans with MD, inclination and azimuth, plus TVD, N/S and E/W when available.
  • Read the plan’s vertical section azimuth and check your VS direction against it.
  • Keep multiple wells and switch between them.
  • Set sensor offset and stand length once.
02Surveys & slide logEnter once. Keep the calculations connected.
  • Calculate minimum curvature surveys from a tie-in that includes VS.
  • Enter bit depth throughout the app. Sensor offset converts it to survey depth.
  • See VS, dog leg, build rate and motor yield at every survey station.
  • Log manual From and To slide depths. Slide seen and slide ahead are calculated automatically.
03Live curve guidanceKeep your bit, plan and landing in view.
  • Running inclination (RINC) between surveys, with running motor yield.
  • Projected inclination and azimuth at the bit.
  • Two tool face options: back to the plan line and landing point, or angle and direction only.
  • Build rate, dog leg and slide versus rotate needed to land, recalculated at each survey.
  • Landing VS short or long of the plan.
  • Left/right and above/below the plan, measured by closest approach perpendicular to the plan.
  • Next survey point with bit depth and survey depth for the next stand. Enter inclination and azimuth straight into the survey list.
04Plot & phone experienceSee the well. Take it with you.
  • Side, top and 3D views of the plan, surveys, projection to the bit and path to landing.
  • Rotate the 3D view with one finger and pinch to zoom.
  • Install from the browser on Android or iPhone. Works offline once installed.
  • Large, high-contrast numbers, with light and dark modes.
  • Well plans and surveys stay on your device. The app checks your license when online; an online re-check is required every 30 days.
